Remedial Massage Therapy
remedial /rɪˈmiːdɪəl/
adjective
from late Latin remedialis, from Latin remedium giving or intended as a remedy or cure
The body is always working to heal itself and the intention of remedial massage is to assist in the process of ‘remedying’ the body. Through a range of assessments and tests we can identify the structures causing pain, structural dysfunctions and assist in injury rehabilitation. Using a variety of techniques tailored to what you are presenting with, the goal is to reasonably reverse physical effects suffered as a result of moderate injury causing structural pain and/or lost mobility or function.
A remedial massage incorporates a range of techniques aimed at specific muscle areas. These techniques may include trigger point therapy, cupping, PNF stretching, joint mobilisations, myofascial release, and muscle stripping. While the pressure used in remedial massage can sometimes be deeper than that of a relaxation massage, it is always adjusted to ensure your comfort.
